#1098 2/6/22 – A Jewish Homeland-Respecting Jew’s Guide to the Galaxy

WHILE YOU STAND ON ONE LEG:  There comes a breaking point in campaigns of unjust vilification of a people when the viciousness becomes so widespread and intense that that unjustly persecuted people ceases to be respectful and polite in its defense and responds in proportionate contumely. By me, our Jewish people has finally gotten there.

A Jewish Homeland-Respecting Jew’s Guide to the Galaxy

I can’t blame you if you missed this week’s Big News, it was only on Fox.  Scientists have finally identified the glue that holds our Milky Way Galaxy’s zillions of stars and planets in its pinwheel layout instead of them all just flying off in every direction – Anti-Semitism.

Anti-Semitism International

The epicenter turns out to be, not some giant black hole in the Galaxy’s core, but a force emanating from a nondescript building on a small island off Europe’s coast on a run-of-the-mill star’s third innermost planet.  The sign out front says “Anti-Semitism International.”  It just issued a twenty-thousand page Report claiming the Jews, alone of all peoples on all planets of all stars in the Milky Way Galaxy, have no claim to a homeland they’ve claimed, including through uninterrupted physical presence for three thousand years and international treaty, but are only there by “Apartheid.”  The Report’s calm objective title: Israel’s Apartheid Against Palestinians, Cruel System of Domination and Crime Against Humanity.

Times of Israel did a lengthy interview with this calm Report’s British authors, including asking several questions on their pontificating that Jews living in Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter are “settlers” in “occupied Palestinian territory.”  One could wish that instead TOI had just quoted Dr. Weizmann:  “Jews were living in Jerusalem when London was a marsh,” and suggested AI take their Israel’s Apartheid Against Palestinians, Cruel System of Domination and Crime Against Humanity Report, embed it in a Ben & Jerry ice cream cone and Hamas-rocket it to, e.g., Senator Sanders or now Secretary of Something Kerry (of 2334 fame), with explicit instructions how to imbibe it.

America’s Newspaper of Rectum

New York is home to a paper priding itself as America’s Newspaper of Rectum, which, e.g., commented, in a news story not opinion piece, some years ago on Israeli archeologist E. Mazar’s uncovering of what might have been King David’s fabled Jerusalem palace:

“The find will also be used in the broad political battle over Jerusalem–whether the Jews have their origins here and thus have some special hold on the place, or whether, as many Palestinians have said, including the late Yasser Arafat, the idea of a Jewish origin in Jerusalem is a myth used to justify conquest and occupation.”

There’s a blatant lie in this quote.  Arafat is not dead.  He was seen just last week by ninety-three non-Orthodox American Jewish rabbinical students inside a Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Shop sharing the brand’s piece de resistance, a Land-of-Israel Split, with Peter Jennings, British Foreign Secretary Bevin and Desmond Tutu.

Philadelphia Inquisitor

Down the road a piece from New York is another oh-so-balanced paper, The Philadelphia Inquisitor, which last year sacrificed under the rubric Buildings Don’t Matter what had been the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount, a site holy to Christians as well.  The Inq called the whole complex the Al-Aqsa Mosque, “Islam’s third holiest site,” headlining Israel’s reopening of the Mount to Jews, having temporarily closed it only to them due to Muslim violence, “Mosque Visits Resume.”

The Inq had previously castigated Israel’s Jews for “fueling a bitterness” by not forthwith returning to their Palestinian dispatchers for sanctification of martyrdom the bodies of “suicide” bombers who’d just blown the bodies of Israeli men, women and children municipal bus passengers to smithereens.  But where the Inq had really revealed its regard for the Jewish race was in its headlining of a pair of wire service news squibs a few days apart.  In one, the Inq carried an AP squib that “The Israeli army shot four Palestinian militants who were trying to plant explosives near the Gaza Strip border fence,” and quoted Hamas calling them its members “on a jihad mission.”  The Inq headlined:  “Israeli Army Shoots Four Palestinians.”  In the other, it ran an AP squib reporting that two Israeli factory guards had been shot dead by a Palestinian Arab whom “a spokesman for Islamic Jihad” said had snuck into Israel and reached the plant in a border industrial zone in which “Israeli factories employ Palestinians.”  The Inq headlined “Two Israeli Factory Guards Die.”  (A few days later, the Inq atoned just a bit, factually headlining that a rocket from Gaza had killed an Israeli mowing his lawn.  We far-right Jews had expected:  “Israeli Gardening Enthusiast Dies.”)

UN Sinks to “Deepest Hostility Depth”

Distinguished Israeli Ambassador Alan Baker, involved in the Oslo Accords and Israel’s peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, is not one to write irresponsibly of international organizations.  Yet he titled his Jan. 23, 2022, JCPA article The UN Descent to its Deepest Depths of Hostility Against Israel.  That’s saying a lot about a forum of every state on the planet that for years had singled out Zionism as “Racism,” and more recently (UNSC 2334) vowed that it “Reaffirms that the establishment by Israel of settlements in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, has no legal validity and constitutes a flagrant violation under international law and a major obstacle to the achievement of the two-state solution and a just, lasting and comprehensive peace.”

So what could the august UN have done now to have topped, or better-said bottomed, this?  Amb. Baker put it this way:

“… the recent unprecedented decision to establish and finance an ‘ongoing, independent, international commission of inquiry’ to function as a permanent ‘inquisition’ or ‘kangaroo court’ aimed solely against one state – Israel – to the exception of all other countries in the world, raises the fearful specter, reminiscent of times gone-by, of unjustifiable persecution and discrimination….

“… The establishment of this inquiry commission would appear to be driving the UN down to the deepest depths of hypocrisy and double standards, even to the point of undermining its own principles and purposes as well as its own financial and administrative mechanisms.”

European Union Out to EU Us Out of Jerusalem

A January 30 Jewish Press article by Hillel Findel and Chaim Silberstein, EU Again Rules To Delegitimize Israel Sovereignty, opened with this:

“Is the European Union serious?  In a statement that seems to not have been reviewed before being issued, the European Union declared without qualification that Israeli evictions of illegal Arab squatters on Jewish-owned property and demolitions of illegal structures on public land are ‘illegal under international law’….

“… In condemning the eviction, the European Union issued a statement similar to one it issued a year ago when Israel evicted a longsquatting Arab family from Jewish-owned property. The previous statement claimed that Israel is an ‘occupying power’ in Jerusalem, and termed Israel’s settlement policy ‘illegal under international law.’”

What’s Really Going On Here

It’s the next paragraph of that Jewish Press article that clearly reveals what’s really going on here.  The EU warned that Israel is endangering “the two-state solution” and Jerusalem as capital of both states.  Article authors Fendel & Silberstein note that a majority of Israelis and even many Arabs regard this as welcome rather than warning:

“In what is possibly the only truism in the statement, the EU said that the continuation of Israel’s settlement policy ‘undermines the viability of the two-state solution… and seriously jeopardizes the possibility of Jerusalem serving as the future capital of both States.’ This evaluation, seemingly meant as a warning, is welcomed by the majority of Israelis and even, according to polls, many Arabs in Jerusalem.”

And recall that the UN in 2334 decried Israel’s “illegal settlements,” including in “East Jerusalem” as imposing “a major obstacle to the achievement of the two-state solution.”

Ask yourself:  What two pieces of the Jewish homeland of Israel do advocates of this “two-state solution” howl for dismemberment from Israel?  Its most defensible Judea-Samaria hill country heartland and most Jewishly meaningful historic Jerusalem.  But the cries now don’t stop with such dismemberment.  In its intro to its Q&A with AI, Times of Israel stated:

“The Amnesty International report alleged that Israel has maintained ‘a system of oppression and domination’ over the Palestinians going all the way back to the establishment of the state in 1948, and it meets the international definition of apartheid. The accusation was leveled against Israel both within its borders [sic, actually ceasefire lines of 1949] and in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.”

Here’s how Richard Kemp summarized Amnesty’s report on Gatestone Wednesday, Amnesty International Wants To End the Jewish State:

“Let us be in no doubt, this report is not a criticism of the State of Israel. It is a chillingly clear manifesto pronouncing Israel an illegal entity with no right to exist. Page after page, it shows a deeply-troubling obsession with righting the supposed wrong of 1948. It calls for Israel to be flooded with generation after generation of descendants of Arabs who left in 1948, and who expected to return after five invading armies had wiped Israel off the map. Such an influx of so-called refugees would be unprecedented anywhere in the world. It would mean the termination of the State of Israel, a condition of perpetual conflict between Arabs and Jews under a single Palestinian state, and the end of the Jewish people’s right to self-determination.”

We can no longer be respectful and polite in contesting calls for our people’s homeland’s destruction that are titled  Israel’s Apartheid Against Palestinians, Cruel System of Domination and Crime Against Humanity, and all the other contemptuous condemnations of Israel and us.  We have to start emulating Israeli diplomat Aliza Ben Nuon.  Times of Israel, 1/7/22:

“’You’re Pissing Me Off!’ Israeli Diplomat Reportedly Yells at European Envoys

“Aliza Ben Nuon loses cool after diplomats from 16 countries use routine meeting on West Bank to present list of concerns regarding Israeli conduct beyond the Green Line.”
